Evisuclothing began in 1991 in Osaka, Japan. Hidehiko Yamane started the brand. He made 14 evisu jeans pairs each day. Each pair got a hand-painted seagull logo on the pocket. The name came from Levi's "L" plus Ebisu, the god of luck and fish. First store, Old Hampshire Bond, opened in April 1992. Now the HQ sits on Shijō
